National Conference on Volunteering and Service

The National Conference on Volunteering and Service is the world’s largest gathering of leaders in the volunteer and service arena. Co-convened annually by the Corporation for National and Community Service and the Points of Light & Hands On Network, this year’s conference is scheduled to take place June 1-3 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Over the course of three days, an expected 4,500 attendees will share best practices, explore new technologies, connect with others, and learn about the latest in volunteer management though workshops, plenary sessions, special events, exhibits, service projects, and more. A new element this year, called “Immersion Learning Experiences,” will enable attendees to get out into the local community to examine issues in depth at such renowned sites as Ebenezer Baptist Church and the Carter Center.

The theme of this year’s conference, “The Urgency of Now,” was inspired by the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and serves as a call to action for today’s volunteering and service leaders. Now is a time of big challenges for our nation and world, and now is also a time of profound opportunity for service and citizen action.
