Joe Foss Institute
FY 2012 National Day of Service and Remembrance Grants
JOE FOSS INSTITUTE SEPT. 11TH NATIONAL DAY OF SERVICE AND REMEMBRANCE The Joe Foss Institute (JFI) was created to work with youth in schools and youth groups across America--with those who will volunteer and serve in our communities in the future--encouraging and teaching public service, democracy, patriotism, and integrity, nationwide. JFI's September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance program will be provided at no cost to interested schools and will utilize our veteran volunteer staff throughout the United States. The veteran volunteer's presentations during that week will focus on remembering 9/11, those who died, the effect it had on the American people, as well as the freedoms, liberties, and rights that are protected under the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. In 2012 our goal is to have 35 veteran volunteer presentations of the September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance program to 12,000 students in a minimum of 10 states in the week surrounding September 11.
