Pennsylvania Mountain School Achievement Corps
Twenty AmeriCorps members will tutor 800 economically disadvantaged middle school students identified as at risk of failing in the Greater Johnstown School District. At the end of the three year project period, it is anticipated that at least 650 middle school students previously identified as at risk for failing will have shown improved academic performance in literacy and/or math. This project will focus on the CNCS objective of tutoring. The CNCS investment for the first year of the project of $262,647 will be matched with $84,001 in local funds.
