Boys & Girls Clubs at Istrouma High School
Boys & Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge (BGC) will implement an AmeriCorps School Turnaround at Istrouma High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Fifty-seven AmeriCorps Members will provide programs for students that will improve the school culture and environment and lead to improved academic performance, student engagement and school attendance outcomes at the school. At the end of the one year period (August 2013-July 2014) BGC expects 75% of students at the school will progress to the next grade level or complete high school, have improved school attendance, and will have improved academic engagement.. This project will focus on the CNCS focus area of education. The CNCS investment of $272,671 will be matched with $195,335.
