Serve Wisconsin-- Wisconsin National and Community Service Board
Serve Wisconsin oversees AmeriCorps*State programs while performing a larger role of engaging and expanding volunteer and national service opportunities through its State Service Plan. In the first three years, the VGF Grant has expanded volunteer opportunities while building organizational capacity that sustains the increased impact in local communities. It has also allowed for the creation of technology needed to connect potential skilled volunteers from across the state with meaningful opportunities. The infrastructure is in place and relationships established in order to create a truly collaborative partnership with Volunteer Centers, organizations, and other partners to have a cohesive, statewide push for increased volunteerism in Wisconsin. In order to do this, Serve Wisconsin is requesting $118,665 from CNCS ($119,938 in match for a total budget of $238,603) for a project between 6/1/2014-5/31/2015 in order to train volunteer leaders to recruit volunteers for National Days of Service; to work with the Volunteer Wisconsin steering committee to plan a statewide promotion of volunteerism; to train non-profit organizations on volunteer management best practices; to increase collaboration with Volunteer Centers across the state; and to develop the foundation to create a new Volunteer Center in an unserved area of the state.
