AmeriCorps week celebrates the contributions of all AmeriCorps programs, current AmeriCorps members, and more than 1 million AmeriCorps alumni who have pledged to get things done for America.

On Friday, October 7, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) will host hundreds of AmeriCorps members at its headquarters to celebrate a major milestone for the national service program that started in 1994: surpassing 1 million AmeriCorps members.

On Sunday, September 5, AmeriCorps, in collaboration with local organizations, will open a Volunteer Reception Centers (VRC) to serve the New Roads area. Through VRCs, AmeriCorps Disaster Response Teams (A-DRT) will lead community volunteers in a blitz effort to clear debris from flood survivors’ homes. VRCs will operate each weekend in new locations.
